| | | | |

Looking to start meditating? Here are five guided meditations that are perfect for beginners. Listen every day, and you’ll see your thoughts and feelings start to shift. Be sure to also check out my recent post on self-worth.

Before I started meditating, I didn’t really understand what it was or how you did it.

I remember wondering how people kept their minds from wandering.

I wondered how they truly fixated on nothing.

Quickly I learned that, like anything, there are different ways to meditate. For me, I couldn’t just jump into silent meditation.

However, I soon found quite a few guided meditations that I absolutely loved.

Guided Meditations

With guided meditations, you are being led through meditation. You follow along with the audio. As a beginner, this helped me because my attention could follow the audio, as he or she explained what to focus on.

Different meditations have you focus on different things – it could be breath, imagery, a feeling, or affirmations.

There are so many different types of guided meditations: gratitude meditations, starting your day positively meditations, self-love meditations, visualization meditations, emotional release meditations, and body scan meditations.

There are also meditations that channel ascended masters and angels.

5 Guided Meditations That You’ll Love

Below I am sharing my five favorite meditations for beginners.

Each of these meditations I’ve done dozens of times. They each have such a special spot in my heart for the healing and comfort they’ve brought me. I wish this for you also!

1. Grounding & Energy Balancing Meditation

When I first started meditating, I was looking for a quick 10-minute meditation. Almost a pre-meditation, where my body could just relax and ease into this quiet time.

I found a guided meditation from Sarah Raymond from The Mindful Movement that was extremely grounding. Her voice is very calm and helps you to slow down and enter a meditative state.

2. Comforting Healing Meditiation

At a time when I needed healing, I found this beautiful visualization meditation with Kuan Yin, the goddess of compassion. This guided meditation is powerful and heartfelt, with the tendency to soothe and comfort.

There’s a heavenly part where you come to a mirror and ask it a question. I’ve had so many incredible breakthroughs from that moment.

If you are in need of any kind of healing, this meditation is such an incredible way to bring more light in and recognize your own light.

3. Letting Go Meditation

Letting go has been a really important part of my journey forward. I tend to hold onto things and try to make them work, instead of moving on with the natural cycle of life.

I searched high and low for “letting go” meditations, and this meditation with Master Sri Akarshana was one of the most powerful ones.

If you are looking to let go of anything – a person, a feeling, an experience, or even a fear, I highly recommend listening to this one.

4. Energy Cleansing Meditation

I absolutely love all of Sarah Hall’s meditations. Her incredible gifts and Divine connection shine through these powerful guided meditations.

Her meditations include cord-cutting, chakra cleansing, psychic protection, and healing. She also does a beautiful healing with Mother Mary, grounding with the faeries, and many angelic meditations.

Above, I’m highlighting her powerful Archangel Michael energy clearing meditation. It’s only six minutes, and it is an amazing way to return to yourself, clear your energy, and feel protected.

5. Motivating Meditation

Just like everyone needs a hype song, we also all need a meditation that energizes and inspires us. Amanda Frances is amazing at this.

This meditation will get you fired up to really go after your dreams and step into your power. Yet, at the same time, you will also feel all the feelings, as her affirmations reach you at a soul level.

I love listening to this one to either start my day – or if I feel that I’m in a slump with my goals.

A Few More Guided Meditation Tips

As I started to meditate every single day, I saw amazing shifts in my life – starting with my connection to myself and leading toward a beautiful connection to the Divine.

Choose a meditation to listen to every day, and I’m sure you’ll see you and your life start to shift in amazing ways.

Here are a few tips as you begin your meditative practice:

  • Try to be consistent and dedicate yourself to one meditation every single day.
  • Listen to the meditations with headphones, as they are much more powerful.
  • You can listen to more than one in one sitting.
  • Find a special meditation spot that you can retreat to each day. This can be a special chair on the porch, or a meditation pillow in a corner. Wherever makes you happy!
  • Take deep breaths to begin, or even the whole time.
  • Make sure you don’t have any distractions – turn your cell phone on silent and turn the meditation volume up!
  • Don’t think of meditation as something on your to-do list or something you have to get done. Think of it as special time to yourself – because that is exactly what it is!
  • Know that you are doing amazing with exactly where you are in your practice. Even if you are just beginning by reading this article!

Thank you so much for your presence here. I wish you all the best with your meditative beginnings.
